The fix
- Empty the bin and wash it with warm soapy water. Let it dry fully.
- Put a sprinkle of baking soda in the bottom before a new bag.
- Use a lidded bin and tie bags before they get full.
- Keep food scraps in a sealed container in the freezer until trash day.
What this won't fully fix: A clean bin and lid keep the smell down. If trash day is rare, food scraps will still smell.
